Andrew Grieve is a Partner in Bain & Company’s Private Equity Group, Industrials Practice, and Customer Strategy and Marketing Practice. He joined Bain’s Chicago office in 2001. Andrew spends most of his time helping buyout funds and corporate acquirers achieve demonstrably superior returns by providing customized commercial diligence programs on targets and performance improvement programs for their portfolio assets. In addition to his work with private equity firms and portfolio companies, Andrew has worked extensively with consumer-focused businesses that rely on customer strategy and marketing, and with a broad set of clients in the Industrial sector addressing a variety of strategic and operational opportunities.
From 2006 – 2008, Andrew worked for Caesars Entertainment (formerly Harrah’s Entertainment) as Regional Vice President of Marketing for the company’s casino resorts in the Midwest US, a nearly $1 billion region. In this capacity, Andrew had strategic marketing responsibility for the region, and day to day responsibility for Harrah’s St. Louis, leading a team of 125 employees. During this time, the properties Andrew oversaw significantly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of their marketing reinvestment, increasing margins significantly while maintaining or growing market share. Prior to joining Bain, Andrew worked for Baxter International in Chicago and in Vienna, Austria. Andrew holds an MBA from Kellogg, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also passed the standardized Certified Public Accountant exam.
